About this place
Located along Yamate-dori between Higashi-Nakano and Nakano-sakaue, Geronimo brings together a menu of hearty meat dishes and Mexican comfort fare. Its laid-back dining room draws an evening crowd, whether people are sitting down for a full dinner or simply dropping in for a drink with a few small plates.
The signature steaks are cut from lean beef that highlights the natural flavour of the meat without relying on heavy marbling. A pat of butter placed on top gently melts into the cut, combining with a lightly tangy sauce, table salt, and freshly cracked black pepper so that even generous 300g or 500g portions remain easy to finish. Just as popular is the hamburger steak, yielding easily to a fork and coated in an aromatic, subtly sweet demi-glace sauce that pairs naturally with rice. Guests can also add toppings such as garlic mayonnaise or mashed potatoes to introduce richer textures.
Beyond sizzling skillet mains, Geronimo offers a substantial lineup of Mexican starters. The chorin—chorizo bound with egg—delivers a pleasant contrast of mild spice and mellow richness, while salsa-topped nachos, slow-simmered chili con carne with beans and minced meat, and tacos fill out the table. For something warming, mekimpa, a spiced soup, makes another satisfying choice.
To drink, draft beer, lime-garnished bottles of Corona Extra, tequila cocktails, and various wines are on hand to match the spiced fare and beef. Wrapping up with a honey-butter tortilla topped with ice cream and a cup of coffee makes for a relaxed finish.
